Annie Schneider, a Senior at Seiling Public School, won first place last spring at the Oklahoma FFA Convention in the prepared public speaking competition, earning her the opportunity to go on to compete at the national level. Annie competes in the prepared public speaking category and spent every year beginning in the eighth grade, and most likely even before that, working to improve her public speaking skills and the content of her speeches. But, most importantly, Annie developed her abilities to deliver a speech in a manner that is engaging, informative, moving and effective. Annie also had to fine tune her ability to think fast on her feet in order to respond to questions that the judges might ask after she presents her speech to them. The public speaking competition in the FFA is highly competitive and Annie spent hours upon hours over the last four and a half years striving to bring her very best in what was to be her biggest moment at the State FFA Convention in May of 2025. Mission accomplished! As it would turn out, Annie was the best and earned her spot to compete on the national level in Indianapolis in late October of 2025. Annie won her preliminary round at nationals but came up just a bit short to move to the finals but finished as one of the top 16 speakers in the nation! The Seiling Public School and community could not be more proud of Annie and her diligent work ethic, her drive and determination. Congratulations Annie, we are proud to count you as one of our own.
