Student Council attends OASC State Convention

Saturday, November 11, 2017, five Seiling Student Council members and their adviser traveled to Broken Arrow, OK to spend three days listening to speakers, networking with other students, and learning lifelong leadership skills at the 77th Annual OASC State Convention. Durning the first general session, delegates had the pleasure of listening to Keith Hawkins and listening to his message to be #betterthangood. Durning the second general session, speaker, Ed Gerety, spoke of the importance of leadership and appreciation. He reminded students and advisers that someone had made it possible for them to be at the conference. Durning the third session, students listened to candidates who running for state offices. On Monday, council members reported for the last time to the field house for the fourth general session. Durning that session, Bill Cordes spoke about making today count. Finally, the Seiling Student Council was given the honor of 2017 OASC Gold Chapter for outstanding achievement and participation within their school, community, OASC and the NASC. Brody Hedges was also a finalist for the Difference Maker Award. The students have come back energized and ready to serve.
